From birth has had what looks like rotten nails. As a baby had conjunctivitis as well as thrush. Changed to soy. Started growing lesions the size of quarters or bigger on front left side of head. Took to dermatologist @ UC Davis. She cut it and did a culture. Also, she went another time to a dermatologist @ UC Davis who prescribed an "ozole" do not remember at this which one and her body especially her fingers burst into red cherry like inflammation. She has been seen by infectious disease, dermatologists, immunologist at UC Davis. Immunologist when she was a very young girl he said she did not have a gene to fight yeast. Infectious disease @ UC Davis probably in 2010 let us know that is probably nothing to do with her immune system but a skin problem.
Around the year 1998 - took her to stanford to start the process of her cochler implant. We had to go throught iummunologists which did nothing, then to infectious disease. They took samples of nails, took pictures. Said it might be mucouscutaneous candidiasis. However samples from ear were coming up bacterial vs. fungus. They started her on Sporanox. Since Sporanox was a form to be used as cosmetics everytime we had to order it the dr had to get it passed thru the insurance company. Finally after trying to get a hold of the dr which in the end never called me back we quit.

Nov 2011-Carina currently has 2 boils. One above the butt crack area and one inside. The one on the inside is growing inside and probably is the size of a 50 cent coin. I attribute this to stress. She has been under tremendous stress due to school.
Made her take a break from softball, all work outs.
11/10/11 - Dermatology appt: Dr. Larsen: Face and back area are acne, groin and underarm area are called hedranitis due to inflammation. Acutane and Humera were suggested. We decided on Acutane which we will try and treat face and back but can also treat the hedranitis. Needs to have lab work done first and start on birth control pills just for safety they want to make sure she is not pregnanct. precaution on their part.
11/ 16/11 - geneticist: Dr. Billur Moghaddam - MIND Inst-suggested possible hormones. wants to do lab work - hormones and other blood work up.
carina has been taking rimfampin for hederanitis. Dr larsen has concluded carina has hedranitis supurativa. She tried acutane but was horrible do not know if it was due to birth control or acutane took her off.
